After acquiring their first NASCAR XFINITY Series win of the season, Team Penske announced their plan to return to a two-car system. This move is based on the success of this team since its inception in 2009. In the past they ran a two-car system and they want to get back to that.

Team Penske is one of the most successful teams in the history of professional sports and they are celebrating its 50th Anniversary during the 2016 season. Team Penske’s first race was in 1996. Since that race they have accumulated 430 major race wins, over 500 pole positions and 28 National Championships across open-wheel, stock car and sports car racing.
