Day Road Trips On The California Coast

Summer is nearly upon us and Penske Chevrolet of Cerritos is excited about it. Road trips are on our mind. Below are three short drives from Cerritos, making for a fun day trip away.

Dana Point, CA

46 miles southeast of Cerritos, CA you'll find Dana Point, a scenic location where quiet tidepools, a busy marina, and the Ocean Institute draw visitors. The city is named after the author Richard Henry Dana, Jr and his Pilgrim ship is actually used at the Ocean Institute to educate. This place is perfect for a family visit.

Hunting Beach, CA

20 miles south of Cerritos, CA lies Hunting Beach, CA. It's home to the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve and Huntington Beach Wetlands as well as serves as a top surfing destination in the area. If you like beaches, surfing or California nature, you must see the beauty of this town for yourself.

Malibu, CA

Malibu, CA is only 52 miles northwest of Cerritos. It's home to a plethora of beaches and hikes that lead up to the Santa Monica mountains. Some top places to visit in Malibu are Zuma Beach, Castro Crest Trail, Adamson House Museum, Pepperdine University, Malibu's Surfrider Beach, and El Matador Beach.

What Is The Difference Between OEM Parts & Aftermarket Parts?

OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer. The original manufacturer of the auto parts sold at Penske Chevrolet of Cerritos is GM. Aftermarket auto parts are parts made by third party companies based on OEM part designs. Which is better? Honestly, OEM parts are going to be your best option more often than not because the OEM designs both the vehicle and the part. The same design specs are used and the same factory makes the part, which means there will be less of a discrepancy from part to part. You will also always have some kind of warranty with the part. This is not to say all aftermarket parts are bad though. You can find good alternative aftermarket parts that will be comparable to auto parts made by OEMs. They are just harder to come by and might not always fit as well as OEM auto parts; they also don't always come with warranties. If you're looking at aftermarket parts that are considerably cheaper in price, chances are they are made cheap and will break down faster.
